Thank you for your interest in Pioneer Baptist Theological Seminary. PBTS is an Independent Fundamental Baptist institution which offers an intensive external degree program specializing in theological and practical training for those called of God to service in the area of church planting and pastoral ministry. Our program allows a person who is self-motivated and not afraid of hard work to receive a quality education in a relatively short period of time without leaving home or current place of ministry. To complement our challenging curriculum, each student must actively participate in and fulfil a Christian service assignment during the duration of enrollment in our program. For those not already involved in pastoral ministry, some degree of internship under the leadership of their own local church pastor is required.
Accreditation Statement
Pioneer Baptist Theological Seminary is a local church ministry; therefore, we do not seek the approval or accreditation of the non-Christian world and are unwilling to make the compromises in academic excellence and spiritual standards necessary to obtain its approval.
Exemption From Licensure
The program of study offered by Pioneer Baptist Theological Seminary has been declared exempt from the requirements for licensure under provisions of the North Carolina General Statutes for exemption from licensure with respect to religious education. Exemption from licensure is not based upon any assessment of program quality under established licensing standards.
